Why do I need Renters Insurance?
Renters insurance is a requirement of your lease. Your personal property and liability are NOT insured by Bradford Manor Apartments or Ashley Management. If something happens and you are not insured, then you will be responsible for it out of your own pocket.

While the policy that you choose may vary, most Renters Insurance Policies offer protection for your belongings in the case of water damage, fire, vandalism, theft, power surge, or other events that are out of your control. Additional coverage that most Policies offer may include; bodily injury and property damage that may be determined at tenants fault, living expenses in case you must leave your home (fire, flood, etc.), visitor medical treatment in case of accident while on property, and even some monetary fraud attempts such as credit card or bank forgery! To learn more about what your policy will cover, please ask your renters insurance salesperson!

So how do you obtain Renters Insurance so that you can be compliant with the lease and keep yourself protected?
Option 1: For an Effective Coverage renter's insurance quote, please call their insurance experts for renters at (800) 892-4308 or visit them online at http://www.effectivecoverage.com/BradfordManor/. Once purchased, Effective Coverage will quickly notify us.

Option 2: If you work with a provider other than Effective Coverage, you must submit proof of your insurance policy declarations page. Your policy declarations page or certificate of coverage must include the following information:

• Your name along with names of all adults living in the apartment
• Policy start and end dates
• Policy number
• The appropriate personal liability limit (minimum $100,000)
• Bradford Manor Apartments must be listed as an "Additional Interest" on your policy. By doing this,
• The "Additional Interest" must read as follows:  Alerts - Bradford Manor Apartments, PO Box 3707 Albany NY 12203

What does "Additional Interests" mean?
By telling your insurance company that you would like Bradford Manor Apartments listed as an "Additional Interest" on your policy, we will be notified should your policy cancel or renew. If you do not take advantage of this, you will be responsible for submitting updated documents each year when you renew; however, if you simply tell your insurance company that you would like to utilize this feature, then Effective Coverage will keep record of your policy for you!
